: The Road :

THE ROAD (2010)
A father and his son walk alone through burned America. Nothing moves in the ravaged landscape save the ash on the wind and water. It is cold enough to crack stones, and, when the snow falls it is gray. The sky is dark. Their destination is the warmer south, although they don't know what, if anything, awaits them there. They have nothing: just a pistol to defend themselves against the lawless cannibalistic bands that stalk the road, the clothes they are wearing, a rusting shopping cart of scavenged food--and each other.

I thoroughly enjoyed this movie - it is quite dark in places, but you have to expect that - the whole world is just about dead ... and believe me, it does add to the storyline.
You feel the emotions of the father (Viggo Mortensen) as he does everything he possible to keep his son safe, while trying to educate him on how to survive if anything happens to him. The people that have survived will do anything to keep living .. as you will see during the movie.

If and when you watch it .. sit down afterwards and just think about what you would do.

RATING - 7/10

Ah - I didn't realize it was a movie now. I listened to the audio book a year plus ago... awesome.
